Alan Wake Remastered was officially announced during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, and fans were able to get a first look at Alan Wake Remastered gameplay.

It was revealed that Alan Wake Remastered gameplay is unaltered, where fighting author Alan Wake finds a vindictive presence in the drowsy small community of Bright Falls, and battles it with a torch.

However, prior to the official announcement, Alan Wake Remastered was surrounded by rumors, most of which turned out to be true. Now, as per another report, an Alan Wake sequel is in early development after the Remastered version.

Information on the Alan Wake sequel should not shock anyone as the rumors about the sequel have been around for an age. Reports of the Alan Wake sequel started to flow in from last month, after the investors' meeting.

During last month's investors' meeting, it was revealed that "Remedy’s AAA game project with Epic Games has moved into full production, and another small-scale game remains in full production mode too."

Nonetheless, as per the reports by VGC, Jeff Grubb claims that the detailed Alan Wake sequel is in early development currently.

During the recent Giant Bomb stream, Jeff Grubb revealed, "They're planning an Alan Wake sequel. This is something I've discussed previously... they are working with Epic Games to produce an Alan Wake 2, or if nothing else it's currently in the planning phase."

Grubb was also hopeful that this planning phase would transform into anything concrete and genuine. He says, " I’m hopeful. I think so. I don’t imagine it will get derailed." He likewise proceeded to say, "Remedy is really busy. They’re super, super busy, so we'll need to keep a watch out if that transforms into anything soon or not.

Journalist Grubb said that the Alan Wake Remastered could be a sign that the developer wants to bring the series back for a second go.

An Alan Wake 2 does make sense, not only because of how popular the original game was but also due to the titular character's connection to Control, the latest Remedy game.

It appears to be that with the Control "AWE" DLC, also the new reveal of Alan Wake Remastered, the developers have been charged off for an Alan Wake sequel. Studio director Sam Lake has also allegedly said that he would be interested in creating a new game in the series.

Back in 2019, Sam Lake told IGN"I want to make it. It’s a curious thing". Regarding the sequel, he said, “At this point, so much time has passed. I feel that the bar is higher in some ways. It needs to be done right if it’s ever done."

With the current rumors and Remedy's director expressing interest, it seems more than possible that an Alan Wake sequel or Alan Wake 2 is currently in early development.

Whatever the case, we will have to wait for the developers to make an official announcement to get any concrete info. Till then fans, can only wait and look forward to the release of Alan Wake Remastered on October 5.
