Recently, a known Genshin leaker, Genshin_Intel shared a new post on Twitter stating, "The Chasm region in 2.6 consists of two halves. The upper half is part of the Teyvat overworld, while the lower half ("The Chasm: Underground Mines") is a separately instanced map."

The leaker likewise shared an image, which well conveys the depth of the new underground section in comparison to the rest of Teyvat. It also indicates that it will be in a different instanced map, which the game has previously done (such as with Enkanomiya).

On Feb 25, BLANK gave a new statement on the Chasm region and said, "anyways chasm is really annoying to explore; gl exploring it for the first time [and] there is one place where if you fall it will take hours to climb back; well not hours but solid30 min - 1 hr. [and] don't forget about stamina."

Aside from this, the leakers revealed the detailed location for both Genshin Chasm Overworld and Genshin Chasm underground. The Teleport Waypoints leaks of both maps allow Travelers to get a good look at the basic layout of this next Genshin region.

Players can readily access the Genshin Chasm overworld section because it is close to Liyue, however, the Genshin Chasm underground region is a little different.

The Genshin Chasm underground region will be a different instanced map, according to reports and travelers can assume that they can access this region from the right side of the map, similar to how it works in Enkanomiya because Teleport Waypoints have been released.

Let's get into the details of each section of the Genshin Chasm region.

Genshin Impact Chasm - Overworld map

The Genshin Chasm overworld section simply explains why this place is known as The Chasm. It has numerous notable icons on the map and shows players where the region's new borders will be. A new Statue of the Seven has been added, as well as five new Teleport Waypoints.

The names of these new seven statues in Genshin Chasm Overworld are:

  • “Caiqiao Vale”
  • Fuao Vale
  • “Surface Mines”
  • “The Chasm's Maw”
  • Cinnabar Cliff
  • Tiangong Gorge
  • "Glazed Peak”

Note: Names in quotes are unofficial translations.

The majority of the leaked material in the new zone is in the Genshin Chasm underground section, so gamers will have to find a way to get to it.

In order to reach the underground section, players must go to a region that is near the middle of The Chasm in Genshin Impact 2.6, therefore it's easy to get to via the nearby Teleport Waypoint. The player should appear in the Genshin Chasm underground region once they've gone down.

The names of these new seven statues in Genshin Chasm Underground are:

  • “Provisional Mining Tunnel”
  • Main Mining Complex
  • “Serpent's Cavern"
  • "Subterranean Wetlands”
  • “Nameless Ruins"
  • “Rugged Stonehall”
  • “Luminescent Narrows"

Note: Names in quotes are unofficial translations.

Many new foes will be found on this map, including the Ruin Serpent and Floating Moldbeasts. In Genshin Impact 2.6, there will be a slew of new riddles that are exclusive to this Genshin Chasm underground region.

Other than the two maps, leakers have revealed a proper Genshin Chasm tutorial from the 2.6 beta files along with the images of the region.

Genshin Impact Chasm tutorial

The following are the different descriptions attached with the images of the Genshin Chasm tutorial.

  • When within this mysterious dark mud, characters will continuously lose HP and their mobility will be affected. Your Lumenstone Adjuvant's energy will also slowly drain under such circumstances. Due to some unknown reason, some monsters will also grow stronger when within this dark mud.
  • A strange tumerous growth that often appears amidst the dark mud and seems to sustain it. Oozing Gulches have different levels of emission strength. Only Lumenstone Adjuvants of sufficient power can use Blooming Light to destroy Gulches of appropriate level.
  • When the Lumenstone Adjuvant reaches a certain level, you can actively use its power to destroy Gulches and the dark mud nearby. Some level 2 Oozing Gulches are significantly tougher and will need a stronger Lumenstone Adjuvant to destroy.
  • These are natural precipitates that occur around the Bedrock Keys used to seal the Chasm. When outside forces powered by a Geogranum hit them, they will fire crystal projectiles. The firing direction depends on the direction from which they took a hit. Perhaps they might be able to affect the Bedrock Keys in some way... ?
  • A mysterious, uniquely-shaped rock related to the special rock pillars nearby. It seems to be able to receive a certain resonance from tbose pillars. Perhaps the number of symbols on that rock have something to do with the number of resonance it receives in a short period of time.
  • Legend has it that these are scars left over from an ancient battle. When hit by explosions or blunt force trauma, they can cause a “resonant earthquake" with other similar rock pillars and certain Geo constructs.
  • A bizarrely-shaped Ruin Machine. It will create Oozing Gulches in battle and will attempt to draw power from them under certain circumstances, which will allow it to unleash devastating attacks.
  • There was once a trusted guard of apparently high standing somewhere, who could wield the power of the winds. When its attacks hit shielded characters, they will become faster and stronger.

The leaks have likewise shared the images of the Chasm region long with the Chasmic Serpent Event Page and The Chasm Event page that are embedded above.

Then we have the supposed lines from the Chasm that came via BLANK. Though we don't have the complete story yet the leaked lines show an interesting contrast of how intense the narrator is and the new Moldbeast enemy.

The leaked lines state, "... The dragon-king traversed the mountains, and the hills collapsed with a sigh... Vishaps and other beasts stalked the wide glaze plains, Rex Lapis called upon the in haste, and we must not tarry for all the profit in the world. I shall come forth, armor, bow, and all. We shall sacrifice ourselves for the nation, though our chances of returning be slim. Let the mourners mourn! Death shall be our home..."

For the rest of the Chasm story, the leaker said, "unlock the rest of the Chasm to unlock the full story."

Prior to the leaks, the devs announced some official details on the surface of the Chasm, the underground mines area, and the Ruin Serpent enemies. Check them out below.

  • Genshin Impact Surface of The Chasm

The Chasm was formed a thousand years ago when a celestial body crashed on the earth, and a large mine was formed around it. With jagged rock walls containing strange stones and mysterious ores. The mine is rich with "Glazed Sand Crystal," a precious raw material often used in making Liyue's porcelain. Because of special geological conditions, the soil and vegetation in this area have a distinctive color.

  • Genshin Impact The Chasm's Underground Mines area

The pathways of The Chasm's underground mines are intricate and complex, and are treacherous to navigate thanks to recent developments. The mines are not only rich in minerals, but the special environmental conditions have given rise to unique fluorescent plants.

  • Genshin Impact The Chasm's Ruin Serpent

A Ruin machine that looks like a giant serpent has recently come alive for reasons unknown. It slithers quietly in the shadows of the mine to pave a way to the known world for unknown dangers buried in the depths of The Chasm. Judging from its appearance and movement, it looks to be a digging machine of some sort.

The Genshin Ruin Serpent, a massive mechanism composed of Abyss Tech that looks like a giant serpent and a drilling machine, will emerge from the depths of The Chasm. Moreover, this Ruin Serpent enemy is a new Ruin Machine monster that resembles the Ruin Guard and Ruin Hunters that may be found throughout Teyvat.

These new Genshin 2.6 enemies have serpent-like shapes and are armed with digging tools, implying that they may be able to burrow and conceal. It appears to be a formidable and threatening enemy, so wish players the best of luck.

Moreover, during the 2.5 Livestream, it was announced, "There's some history to The Chasm, or perhaps some deeper story behind it. Legend has it that Azhdaha and Rex Lapis fought their battle here. The ancient battlefield has remained to this day as a reminder for everyone. Once The Chasm is available Travelers will be able to explore the depths and discover what secrets await in the darkness below."

However, players should keep in mind that the concept art of Chasm and the images of 2.6 enemies in the preview program aren't conclusive, so obviously the final look of Genshin Ruin Serpent and Chasm's mines can be changed in Version 2.6.

With all the leaks, rumors and official reveal it seems like HoYoverse has planned something incredible for the players going from Ayato to the Chasm, the Genshin version 2.6 will bring new characters, regions, events, artifacts, weapons, and a lot more.
