HoYoverse has been continually extending the game's gacha pool since its release in 2020, and there are huge loads of characters who are currently available in the game.
One new character is definitely released with a new patch update, which usually brings a new 5-star character, but if lucky, we get a 4-star character too in the same update. However, it is not necessary that we will get a new character in a patch update only, as HoYoverse have also introduced Genshin Impact characters outside of this schedule (such as Klee).
Even though the current list of characters is not small, there are a lot more Genshin characters scheduled to show up in the game in the coming days and a couple of these characters have been announced officially.
Recently, a new Genshin character Ayato was introduced by the devs who will be joining us in the 2.6 update, and as per the official announcement, the 2.6 update will be released on March 30. However, HoYoverse is yet to reveal any details about a certain amount of Genshin Impact characters that are rumored to join the list soon.
So let's go through the coming soon Genshin Impact characters list that is all set to make their debut in Genshin 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, and further updates more interesting.

Upcoming Genshin Impact characters
Let's begin with the one that has been confirmed to show up in the upcoming 2.5 update.
Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayato
Genshin Impact Ayato is the senior sibling of the previously released character Ayaka and is the head of Kamisato Clan, and furthermore fills in as the Yashiro Commissioner.
It's quite a known fact that Kamisato Ayato has been in rumors since September 2021, prior to the release of the 2.1 update and then several known Genshin leakers affirmed that Ayato's release is scheduled for the 2.6 patch.

Genshin Impact Yelan
Another rumored character on the list is Genshin Impact Yelan. Earlier leakers shared a screenshot of a strange and unknown female character from a Genshin Impact Story Cutscene of Moonchase Festival Event and it was claimed that the character's name is Genshin Impact Yelan.
Yelan was said to bear a striking similarity to Fu Hua, a character from Honkai Impact 3 who is truly immortal and one of the last survivors of the former civilization. And fans now have definitive in-game proof of Yelan's existence courtesy of the 2.6 beta leak, since Yelan's model had been shown.
It has been suggested that Yelan will be released in the Genshin 2.7 patch, which is very likely given the model leaks. Yelan will have the "Lady" model, while Kuki Shinobu will have the "Girl" model, and Ayato will have the "Male" model, according to previous reports (which is confirmed to be true).
There are numerous leaks suggesting Yelan will be a part of the 2.7 update but to be certain of anything we will have to wait for a while. Even though Yealn's release date is far away, we do have leaked info about her voice actor, rarity, release date, and weapon type.
Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu
As per the leaked data, there is another Genshin Impact character, Kuki Shinobu underway. Shinobu is a solid and legitimate character and Arataki Itto (the leader of the Arataki gang) fears her.
She has been mentioned quite a few times by other characters in the game including Arataki Itto and Sayu that describe her as a stubborn and bold character. However, leaks have revealed that she could be joining us sometime in the future update.
We have the Kuki Shinobu banner planned for the 2.7 version, similar to the Genshin Yealn, therefore if the leaks are accurate, the Genshin Kuki Shinobu banner might be released on the 31st of May 2022.
The Arataki Gang's deputy, Genshin Impact Shinobu, looks to be a more sensible and responsible counterweight to Itto's brash nature.

Genshin Impact Dendro Archon
Genshin Impact Dendro Archon is another character who has been in rumors for quite some time now.
Players have been looking forward to the introduction of Teyvat's seventh element - Dendro, and the Sumeru area in the Genshin Impact for a long time. And hence, several theories have circulated about the possible characters that may be released as playable in the near future.

Genshin Impact Baizhu
Genshin Impact Baizhu initially appeared in the game during "Guizhong", the Archon Quests Chapter 1, Act 2. Baizhu of Genshin Impact is the owner of a popular pharmacy in the Liyue region known as Bubu Pharmacy. Several characters in the game come to Baizhu for his novel, yet compelling medicines.
Genshin Impact Baizhu, a Dendro NPC in the game was suspected to be released as a playable character sometime in the future, however, there were rumors that fans will soon get to explore Genshin Impact Baizhu's abilities again. Baizhu's return is something that will get plenty of fans energized.
With the addition of a new significant area named Sumeru, Baizhu, Yaoyao, and Kusanali will most likely be tied. All of these characters are supposed to have Dendro vision, which is currently the only feature that no playable character has.
Baizhu has previously appeared in a number of quest lines related to the Liyue region, whereas Yaoyao, the sole character from the game's original beta who has yet to be included in the playable roster, is a Dendro user. The God of Wisdom Kusanali, as a new Genshin Impact Archon, is slated to appear alongside Sumeru and serve as its protector.
Genshin Impact Cyno
Genshin Impact Cyno is a scholar from Sumeru Academia who helped Collie in the manga game. Now Cyno was originally showed up in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview, which displayed various upcoming characters.
Actually, the possibility of Cyno showing up in the game as a playable character comes from the fact that he is a polearm wielder from Sumeru, and this Sumeru region is rumored to be released in the Genshin 3.0 update.

Genshin Impact Lyney and Lynette

Genshin Lynette is a young woman having violet eyes, pale skin and wears a short dark cape attached to her clothes with a bow, whereas Genshin Lyney is a young man having violet eyes, pale skin, with braided style, and can be seen wearing a top hat and a black cape with a red ribbon.
This pair of Genshin twins actually hail from Fontaine, a region inspired by France, and were actually introduced to the players in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview, which displayed various upcoming characters.
Recently it was leaked that HoYoverse's current progress is on 3.4 and early Fontaine, so if the devs actually release these characters in the game then it would be quite interesting to see the pair in action as the speculations hints at them having an ability to switch places with one another in battle.
Genshin Impact Dainsleif
Genshin Impact Dainsleif has been defined as the self-proclaimed prophet, who has the keys to many of the world's greatest secrets and specifically of the lost region of Khaenri'ah.
Dainsleif was one of the very first characters that were confirmed to be playable and were introduced as a Genshin Impact character during the Tokyo Game Show 2020 stream to celebrate the global release of the game. However, the devs never released Dainsleif in the main game as a playable.
Recently, Dainsleif has become a topic of discussion among the players, thanks to the constantly flowing leaks that reveal info about the upcoming update. Earlier, leakers suggested that there's a possibility that the 2.6 update will bring back Dainsleif.
Tough the leakers were proven to be true as 2.6 Livestream announced the Genshin Dainsleif 2.6 Archon Quest - Requiem of the Echoing Depths Chapter: Act II, the fans who were waiting for him to be playable were actually disappointed.
Other than the above-mentioned, we also have another list of Genshin Impact characters who will show up after the Genshin 3.0 update.
Genshin Impact characters coming after the 3.0 update or Sumeru
Along with the new location, leakers suggest that the 3.0 update will bring a flood of new characters, and we were also informed about the names of a few of them.
To begin with, it states that the Genshin 3.0 update will include two new male characters and a large number of female characters as is the case with the current roster, where the number of female characters is almost double the number of male characters.
However, the name of the initial two Genshin 3.0 male characters is unknown at this time.
We have another two new male Genshin characters likely to join us after v3.0, and their names are:

- Tighnari
And the new female Genshin characters coming after the 3.0 update include:
- Nafs
- Dori
- Nahida
