It is usual for HoYoverse to launch a fresh patch after a six-week pause, and gamers always await the same. Recently we got Genshin 2.6 update and version 2.7 is next up in the line.

The developers provide a few new characters, banners, banner reruns, map, events, adversaries, and a lot more with each new patch, meaning that gamers have always had something new to look forward to.

The same can be stated for the Genshin Impact 2.8 upgrade which could probably go live towards the end of June.

Despite the fact that we have nothing official on the Genshin 2.8 patch and version 2.7 is scheduled before v2.8, we can thank the dataminers and leakers who work extremely hard to provide important info well before the official announcement.

Genshin 2.8 leaks have shared details regarding the future map, characters, banner reruns, and more. Before we get into the specifics, it's important to understand that these aren't official beta leaks, so everything that follows must be taken with a pinch of salt.

Genshin Impact 2.8 release date

The official Genshin Impact 2.8 update release date has yet to be announced by HoYoverse, but based on the regular six-week patch cycle, gamers should expect to see the new version sometime in late June.

The Genshin 2.6 upgrade went live on March 30, 2022, and version 2.7 is expected to start on May 11, and if history repeats itself, the Genshin Impact 2.8 upgrade will be released on June 22, 2022.

However, it's best to wait for further information on the Genshin 2.8 release date.

Now let's head over the details on Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks.

Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks

Numerous leakers have made various claims concerning the next Genshin Impact 2.8 update, including some trustworthy sources like Ubatcha, Uncle Chasm, and others, as well as some unconfirmed sources like NoLifeGuard, Alleged Dumb Dumb Alt, and others.

We don't have an overview from verified leakers because the Genshin 2.8 beta has yet to begin, but we still have an insight about the following aspects as revealed by Genshin 2.8 leaks:

  • 2.8 characters
  • 2.8 banners
  • 2.8 enemies
  • 2.8 region rerun
  • 2.8 events
  • 2.8 skins

Let's begin with the leak on Genshin Impact 2.8 characters.

Genshin Impact 2.8 characters leak

There have been numerous leaks talking about the unreleased Genshin characters, and one such character is Shikanoin Heizou.

Shikanoin Heizou, similar to Kujou Sara, works for the Tenryou Commission as an investigator. In numerous broadcasts, he was depicted as somebody who tries to complete duties on his own.

As per the data miners, Heizou will be an Anemo character, raising the total count of Anemo users in the title to 8. His rarity was found to be 5-star, and his release date was allegedly postponed until the Genshin Impact 2.8 update.

Heizou will be the last character from Inazuma to be available in the 2.8 release, according to multiple prominent leakers.

Yet it remains to be seen, how correct these leaks are.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Banners leak

As of now, no specific confirmation about the Genshin Impact 2.8 banners or which characters would be on the future banner has been released. Gamers, however, may see some unusual characters in the 2.8 banners, according to leaked data.

Earlier rumors recommended that the Genshin 2.8 update would not include any new characters and would instead be a complete rerun patch, which surprised many fans who expected Heizou to be included. However, it was assumed that the leaker was hinting that no new 5-star characters will be included in the update.

Now, the characters who will be rerunning in a future patch have been revealed in a fresh leak concerning the Genshin 2.8 banners.

A recent Twitter post from SaveYourPrioms, a well-known Genshin account, indicated that a trustworthy Uncle Y from NGA had approved a post on the Genshin 2.8 banner. According to the leaks, we can expect the following Genshin Impact 2.8 banners:

  • Genshin Impact Kazuha banner rerun
  • Genshin Impact Klee banner rerun
  • Genshin Impact Yoimiya banner rerun

Seeing Kazuha on the list shouldn't surprise anyone as he has been in rumors since the 2.5 patch. But the other two additions on the list would certainly interest the players.

Travelers can guess when Genshin Impact 2.8 banners release date based on how previous banners' time cycles operated. On June 22, 2022, the Genshin 2.8 update will go live and that date would be 42 days after the release of Version 2.7.

Usually, any Event Wishes in Genshin lasts for 21 days, so based on this information, the forthcoming 2.8 Event Wishes should have the following release dates:

  • Genshin Impact 2.8 Phase 1 will begin on June 22, 2022.
  • Genshin Impact 2.8 Phase 2 will begin on July 13 or 14, 2022 (depending on the first banner).

Prior to Genshin 3.0 update, we have a lot of characters left for reruns including Klee, Kazuha, Yoimiya, Itto, and Shenhe. Genshin 2.7 leaks have claimed that Itto rerun is planned for the 2.7 update, so we have Klee, Kazuha, Yoimiya, and Shenhe left for version 2.8.

However, it remains to be seen who all will actually appear on the Genshin 2.8 banners.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Enemies

So far, the Genshin 2.8 leaks have not revealed any particular enemy that will be seen in the upcoming update, however, we do have knowledge on 2.8 Spiral Abyss, its Floor 11 leyline disorder, and 2.8 spiral abyss blessings.

As per the leaked data, the 2.8 Spiral Abyss Floor 11 leyline disorder is: "Pyro DMG inflicted by characters is increased by 75%."

The details on 3 new Genshin 2.8 Abyss Blessing Phases were shared on the WFP channel, and these new 2.8 Abyss Blessings are:

  • Genshin 2.8 Spiral Abyssal Blessing Phase 1

Genshin Impact 2.8 region rerun leak

There are many regions in the title which have to be revealed in the main game, and new leaks say that one of these regions, Golden Apple Archipelago, will be seen in the Genshin 2.8 update, which will be the final patch before version 3.0.

The Golden Apple Archipelago is not a new name for Genshin Impact veterans, as the location was originally released in the 1.6 ptach.

The Genshin Impact Golden Apple Archipelago was the largest summer festival in the game, with beaches, boating, and other enjoyable activities. It would be exciting for players to stay on the islands for the entire summer.

The Golden Apple Archipelago will be released in the 2.8 patch, according to Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks, and given that the 2.8 update is slated to arrive in the summer, this sounds realistic. Moreover, the leak from Uncle DD's alleged alt account claimed:

  • Golden Apple Archipelago rerun in 2.8
  • Male character "expected" to appear in 2.8 or 3.0
  • Dendro [female child] character release in 3.1

Aside from the Golden Apple Archipelago, the Sumeru region, as well as the Dendro characters, will make their appearance in the title with the Genshin 3.0 update. As per leaks, Collie will be the next Dendro character in the 3.0 update, so, fans will not need to wait long until we learn more about the game's future Dendro characters.

Genshin Impact 2.8 events

So far we don't have a lot of info on Genshin 2.8 events, but earlier, Ubatcha did claim that the 2.8 events will probably include the Ludi Harpastum festival event and Fischl hangout event.

  • Genshin 2.8 Ludi Harpastum festival event

The Ludi Harpastum is an annual celebration held in Mondstadt. The festival usually lasts 15 days and is jam-packed with games and music. It is one of the most well-known festivals in Mondstadt.

Ludi Harpastum was founded to honor Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, who taught his people how to make wine and live freely. It was an event intended for everyone to enjoy.

The Ludi Harpastum event which was teased in Klee's story quest and the official Manga is rumored to be launched during the 2.8 update, which is also expected to include Klee's return banner. It's possible that the adorable bombardier will play a role in the Ludi Harpastum tale!

  • Genshin 2.8 Fischl hangout event

Other than this, in his post, the leaker stated that consecutively in 2.7, 2.8, and 3.0, there will be three hangout events in a sequence, and each of these hangout events will be related to a new 4-star and existing character. And Fischl will be linked to the one in the 2.8 update.

So fans can hope to see a Fischl hangout event in the Genshin 2.8 update as well.

Genshin Impact 2.8 skins

We've been getting new skins and outfits for the characters in the game since the 2.4 update, and with version 2.5, HoYoverse introduced the Genshin Impact 2.5 alternate outfit for Amber, Jean, Rosaria, and Mona.

Now, receiving new character skins has been a hot issue in the Genshin community for quite some time, and leakers have said that we would be getting both Diluc and Fischl skins soon.

The skin of Genshin Fischl has been rumored since the 2.5 patch, therefore her inclusion in the 2.8 version seems likely. Furthermore, the leak has been confirmed by a number of trustworthy leakers, so believing them isn't a bad idea.

More information on Diluc skin and Fischl skin leak can be found on our other detailed page.

The data, on the other hand, comes from the 2.8 leaks, which are subject to change given that the 2.7 patch still has a long way to go. So, until HoYoverse officially publishes details on Genshin 2.8 update, gamers should take it with a grain of salt.
