CyberConnect2 did an incredible job with the very first title in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm was the series' first foray into the 3D Arena Fighter genre since previous fighting games in the series had kept players on a 2D plane.

The first Ultimate Ninja Storm had 25 playable characters and enabled an immersive and engaging anime tale from the very first episode till the 135th one.

With over 5.5 million copies sold, the most recent title in the Ultimate Ninja Storm franchise is still by far the largest title. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 - Road to Baruto was even released for the Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Now despite fan pleas, back in 2019 developers announced that there will not be a fifth Ultimate Ninja Storm game. However, contradicting this, leaks have revealed that Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 is currently in development.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 development leak

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 is now in development, according to an anime games insider, and could be released later this year.

Senju - a Japanese YouTuber and anime gaming insider, posted a new video yesterday claiming that a new Naruto game which will be the next installment in the Storm series is in production at Bandai Namco.

This is the same person that accurately predicted the Jojo game as well as the Demon Slayer DLC packs and according to him, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 has been in development for at least a year.

The leaker didn't say much about the game, other than that he'd heard it's been in production for a year. He claims to have a lot of knowledge about the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 development progress, however, he asserted that he will be disclosing more info about the Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 game in the future.

If we are to believe the leaker, then this Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 may be announced before the end of the year.

Even though the upcoming Naruto game under production is the next in the Storm series, Senju in Japan speculated that this would be named after Boruto rather than being titled Ultimate Ninja Storm 5.

The theory behind it is also justified as given how Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 concluded, it's safe to assume that Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 will center on the ongoing Boruto anime and manga series. It is likewise possible that the game would be focusing on the Naruto characters' next generation and perhaps taking place after the Boruto DLC for Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.

Some elements from the first Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series are expected to return in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 like awakened characters can also use their ultimate jutsus and can also be hit by the ultimate jutsus of other characters.

Then an additional new feature that fans have requested from the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5 producers includes minigames from the Ultimate Ninja series, such as Target Practice, Guy or Lee's Training Exercises, Tree Climbing, and more.

Yuushizotti brought the news to the attention of fans on Twitter, and when asked about the reliability of the leak, PS360HD2 (a popular anime games reporter) said that Senju in Japan is "Credible as it gets. Trust me it's happening".

However, if the leak is true, then players will not have to wait for long as leaks and reports eventually lead to a formal announcement.
