Genshin Impact 3.8 Region - Penumbra leaked

Recently, a prominent Genshin Impact leaker, BLANK took to Twitter and revealed that Genshin Impact 3.8 region will be known as Penumbra. Earlier, it was speculated that an expansion of Sumeru will be the region in the 3.8 Update, however, now it seems like that won't be the situation.

The region, resembling earlier regional additions to Genshin Impact like Enkanomiya and The Chasm, is revealed to be a subregion of another. According to rumors, Penumbra will have a relation to "Water-formed Mirages/Delusions," maybe to the Oceanid boss that Liyue's players can battle.

However, unlike the past additions such as Golden Apple Archipelago, the leaker was unable to determine if the area will be associated with a particular occasion.

If the leaker is on point with his leak, then a region called Penumbra will be seen in the Genshin 3.8 Update, and even though it's astonishing, yet it bodes well as it was supposed that a new region will show up alongside the new Fontaine characters.

Other than the region, BLANK also revealed that Genshin Impact 3.8 update will probably bring a new event having some rollercoaster mechanics.

The leaker stated, "3.8 seems to have some Rollercoaster event where you can attack opponents on either your left or right side."

In terms of Genshin 3.8 characters, the 4.0 Serverside leak revealed that a new character codenamed "Soutine" will possibly be released in Genshin Impact 3.8 update. It has also been speculated that this char will be a Hydro Claymore and will hail from the Fontaine region.

Moreover, recently, new in-game files were found on CN Test Dispatch Servers that became quite popular soon after it was posted on the web media. It was showcased in the leaked file that version 3.8 is going to be the last patch before Genshin 4.0 update.

And although the leak mentioned nothing about the upcoming region, various fans have connected this new 3.8 leak with the release of an upcoming region.

There was a great deal of hypothesis around the Genshin 3.8 characters, and even though a new Fontaine character was affirmed by various sources, yet there was a ton of uncertainty around the patch of release. However, now it appears as though this new char will be seen in the 3.8 update.
