League of Legends Dr. Mundo rework in patch 12.23 revealed

Without a question, League of Legends is amongst the most popular games, and players all around the world eagerly anticipate any new update that is released within a certain time frame.

Each update brings a new champion to the game, which fans eagerly await. Riot Games has previously released several League of Legends characters, including the 162nd champion, K'Sante, who was introduced in a surprise reveal to the players.

In Season 12, Riot has done some fantastic mini-reworks, bringing Ahri and Janna back to the top for both solo queue and pro play, while Dr. Mundo and Zeri are next in line for mini-reworks.

This time around, the League of Legends developers are planning a slew of modifications to Dr. Mundo in order to solve some of the most pressing issues that players have had with the madman of Zaun. Riot Twin Enso, the Champion Designer on the League of Legends Summoner's Rift team, revealed some LoL Dr. Mundo changes which will be available in the game later this week along with the LoL patch 12.22 and 12.23.

League of Legends Dr. Mundo rework - patch 12.23

Dr. Mundo now plays as a combination of a tank and a juggernaut, yet he is ineffective at both tasks. This is particularly true in the late game when it is more difficult to optimize his health loss and regen. Even though Mundo has a high 52.15% victory percentage, his play rate in the top lane is only 3.2%, which indicates his lack of popularity.

Since the release of his League of Legends reworks, Dr. Mundo hasn't truly felt at home on the Summoner's Rift. The Madman of Zaun has drifted in and out of the meta, but Riot hopes that new buffs in LoL Patch 12.23 will help him establish himself as a late-game monster.

Thus, as part of the upswing of mid-scope upgrades in League of Legends Season 12, Riot is planning a Dr. Mundo rework with LoL patch 12.22 and LoL patch 12.23.

On November 16, @Damascus_Glenn (Champion Designer on the League of Legends) revealed new details about Dr. Mundo stating, "Dr. Mundo changes should be coming to PBE today!"

As per the given info, the Dr. Mundo mid-scope update will be released with patch 12.23 (not 12.22). He has been put up early for feedback, so he should be on PBE for about a week. He’ll return to PBE when League of Legends kicks off the 12.23 cycle.

The developer also detailed some set goals for Dr. Mundo's reworks that were likewise jotted down in the post, "Goals are to improve Jungle winrate, make him more late game skewed, and make W more impactful!"

League of Legends Season 12 Dr. Mundo's Abilities changes

The League of Legends team is redesigning Dr. Mundo's whole kit around a new W with upgraded abilities.

Riot wants to relocate him to the jungle and make significant adjustments to his W. They anticipate that the Dr. Mundo adjustments will direct gamers in that way. Additionally, the adjustments will increase his role as a late-game tank. The champion is designed by Riot to be more of a late-game tank in the jungle.

Overall, Dr. Mundo is getting a mid-scope update for League of Legends in Season 12 that intends to reintroduce him into the meta by transforming him into a late-game monster with effective use of his W, Heart Zapper.

Fortunately, Riot has been promoting some fantastic mini-reworks for champions like Ahri, Janna, and Taliyah in season 12 who were "underwhelming" in the meta and required some love. League of Legends Dr. Mundo rework release date

As stated above, all the new LoL Dr. Mundo rework will be seen in the LoL patch 12.23, so fans can expect to see the changed Dr. Mundo on December 7th, 2022.

Although the changes are pretty significant, a few players have also suggested Dr. Mundo's ability to stack tenacity from multiple sources should have been kept, stating, "Tbh, old Mundo was stronger than this with the ability to stack tenacity from multiple sources. His passive was just outdated compared to newer champions(i.e Senna) but other than that, older Mundo with a new passive and this Mundo's ulti would still do better in the game"

However, with enough time between the reveal and League patch 12.23 on December 7, it is possible that these Dr. Mundo buffs and nerfs will continuously undergo some new changes.

This was the complete details about the League of Legends Dr. Mundo rework in patch 12.23. Other than the LoL patch 12.23 Dr. Mundo buffs, developers will also reveal the list of champion buffs, nerfs, skins, and the system changes that will also come along with LoL patch 12.23.

We will keep updated with new info, so keep following.
