League of Legends 13.1 patch notes

League of Legends is a multiplayer online game, but it isn't an MMO in the sense that it focuses on gameplay rather than an open world to explore. The title is a MOBA that can be challenging to get into for newbies, especially since it has been on the market for a long time, but it does not require a strong PC to play.

We recently received a significant LoL patch 12.23 update which included various changes in the main game, including major buffs and nerfs for several champions and interesting gameplay adjustments.

Now while Riot continues to tinker with all of the major changes in LoL patch 13.1, the live game is indeed moving forward. After dealing with more than 10 champions in the previous update, the developer is now focusing on adjusting a few champions' abilities.

Riot is concentrating on champions like Sion, Dr. Mundo, Zeri, and others in patch 13.1. Moreover, the main focus of the LoL patch 13.1 is to bring the major ARAM changes to balance the meta.

So let's get to know what has been detailed so far with regards to the League of Legends 13.1 patch, including changes, champions buffs and nerfs, new releases, and more.

League of Legends Designers on the Summoner's Rift team, shared a preview of the upcoming LoL patch 13.1 changes on January 4th.

RiotPhlox stated regarding the LoL 13.1 patch, "For champions we're still mostly looking at soloq outliers as we head toward season start (10th). We're also buffing up a number of underpowered items and adjusting Jak'Sho to make it less valuable on fighters."

Jayce, Lissandra, Sion, and others are among the champions that will be buffed as part of the 13.1 update, and Yummi, Zeri, and others will be receiving nerfs. Moreover, Jax is the champion that will receive changes to his kits with the LoL 13.1 patch.

It's never been easy to play Yuumi because she's either too powerful or unplayable. In patch 13.1, Riot has further Yuumi nerfs planned for the start of League of Legends Season 13.

Riot has already revealed a bigger Yuumi rework. The controversial cat is still receiving adjustments since "she remains extremely frequently banned," according to developer "Phlox," who informed players on January 3.

LoL Patch 13.1 System Buffs and Nerfs

Well, along with champions, some of the system's elements will also receive changes to them. These LoL Patch 13.1 system buffs and nerfs include:

System Buffs

  • Rod of Ages
  1. Health: 300 ⇒ 400.
  2. Unique – Eternity
    1. Resources restored to proc
    2. Bonus Movements Speed: 25% ⇒ 35%.
    3. Several QoL and Bugfixes (Not Specified).
  • Axiom Arc
  1. Lethality: 10 ⇒ 18.
  • Horizon Focus
  1. Ability Power: 85 ⇒ 100.
  • Winter’s Approach

  2. Health: 350 ⇒ 400.
  • Archangel’s Staff
  1. New Build Path: Tear + Kindlegem + Needlessly medium Rod.
  2. Cost: 2600 gold ⇒ 3000 gold.
  3. Unique – Awe Gain Ability Haste equal to 0.5% bonus mana ⇒ Gain Ability Power equal to 1% bonus mana.

Horizon Focus and Rod of Ages will receive some much-needed buffs in patch 13.1, while Axiom Arc will also receive some attention. It's uncertain whether Fimbulwinter will also change, although Winter's Approach (a non-upgrade variant of Fimbulwinter) is getting a buff. Riot is working to find a balance between the item's multiple applications.

System Buffs

  • Legend Tenacity
  1. 5% + (2.5% per Legend Stack) ⇒ 5% + (1.5% per Legend Stack).

Tenacity is being decreased, and the only rune receiving the adjustment is the Legend rune. This suggests that the Legend rune is working too hard, and this is being fixed right now.

LoL Patch 13.1 System Adjustments

Regarding the system changes, developers have likewise listed a few System Adjustments that are coming in LoL patch 13.1 in the PBE servers and the list includes:

  • Jak’Sho, The Protean
  1. Cost: 3100 gold ⇒ 3200 gold.
  2. Resists: 2 per second + 15% total resists at max stacks ⇒ 2 per second + 20% total resists at max stacks.
  3. Unique – Voidborne Resilience
    1. Drain Amount: 3% maximum HP ⇒ 80 + 7% maximum HP.
    2. No longer drains minions/monsters.
  • Seraph’s Embrace
  1. New Build Path: See Archangel’s Staff.
  2. Cost: See Archangel’s Staff.
  3. Ability Haste: 0 ⇒ 10.
  4. Unique – Awe Gain Ability Haste equal to 1.3% bonus mana ⇒ Gain Ability Power equal to 2.5% bonus mana.
  5. Empyrean Passive removed
  6. (New) Unique – Lifeline
    1. Upon taking damage that would reduce your Health below 30%, gain a 250 + 20% current Mana Shield for 30 seconds.
    2. Cooldown: 90 seconds.

LoL Patch 13.1 makes changes to Jak'Sho, The Protean, and Seraph's Embrace. Since Riot has been working on this item for some time, Seraph's Embrace, which has long been sought, is now available. On the other hand, Riot has struggled with Jak'Sho ever since it was introduced, so they are changing the way it functions.

As the devs will continue to buff or nerf the brand-new system until it achieves a balanced state, League of Legends fans can rest confident that these are not the only modifications anticipated to arrive. In the near future, new items will continue to get a number of balance changes.
