New Halo Infinite Multiplayer Maps Leak

Players were able to get access to Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer mode back on November 15 as it was released via a beta as a part of the Xbox 20th Anniversary celebration. However, it only brought a small selection of playlists and only 10 different maps.

The devs have offered popular playlists like SWAT (currently known as Tactical Slayer) and Fiesta to the games, however, the developers are yet to address the issue of the game’s lack of level variety.

But now it seems like we will soon get some new multiplayer maps as the leaks are suggestive of the same.

Recently, on Jan 14, a new leak was posted about the Halo Infinite Unreleased Maps by a Twitter user, leaks_infinite who stated the names of five new Halo Infinite maps and attached their images below it.

As per the leaked info, these Halo Infinite Unreleased Maps are:

  • Cataract
  • Forbidden
  • Beltway
  • Solitude
  • Bath Salts

It has been claimed that these images are placeholder images that have come from the early stages of development, utilizing different elements and assets of the game itself. If the leaked images are indeed from the early development stages then players can expect that a few of them must have been completed and will be released sometime soon.

It additionally is a given, that the looks of the maps must have been changed as these were merely a placeholder and even a user explained,

"To anyone looking at these and thinking "wow they look like crap!" You're right. This is what is called the "Blockout phase" which is an extremely important part of the early development phase where low poly assets are used to create the basic shape and design of the map.

This is important as you can have a head of design look at the map and tell you what works and doesn't. This also lets gameplay designers test how the map works in-game without having to wait for the map to be done. It's a team effort that lasts the entire development cycle."

It was further stated that the last Halo Infinite multiplayer map mentioned in the leak, "Bath Salts" should be termed as "Bassalts" which apparently is like Latin for Stalegmite or crystal pillar structures.

It would actually be very interesting to see what it turns out to be.

With all these leaks coming out, it clearly seems like players have a lot to look forward to as we also have a new Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown 2022 event to explore that is all set to begin on the 18th of January 2022.

However, these are only leaks for now and should be taken with a grain of salt until any official announcement regarding the new Halo Infinite multiplayer maps is made. We will keep updating the article whenever the devs decide to drop in new info.
