By this point, Need for Speed has been around for over 30 years. Over the years, NFS has developed on many different identities and genres, spanning numerous platform generations. Heat, the most current game, was a throwback to the game's heyday in the early and mid-2000s.
Although Heat didn't quite hit the pinnacle of titles like Most Wanted, it may have been a positive step forward. The Need for Speed franchise, on the other hand, has been a bit dormant recently. An insider has leaked a few pictures from the title, including the whole map of the game's planet, which appears to be quite large.

Other than the recent leaks, we received some other info from a known industry insider, Jeff Grubb on the elements that could be a part of the Need For Speed 2022 game.
Now, according to recent claims from Jeff Grubb, the next Need for Speed game will have attractive, anime-like graphics to give it a distinct aesthetic flair. Criterion intends to make it feel like a real metropolis, according to Grubb.
Furthermore, the title will have a photorealistic feel to it, but would still have some personality thanks to "anime features." "It'll be photo-realistic, but it'll have anime aspects on top of that," Grubb explained.
"You know when you see a car commercial or something like that and the car's driving around, but then cartoons flames and stuff are flying off it? That's the kind of the aesthetic that they seem to be going for."
Currently, the devs have not revealed the exact name of NFS 2022, what it'll be about, or if it'll have further unique features. The Need for Speed series seems to have a history of trying new methods to keep things fresh, such as Need for Speed: The Run, a cinematic action game including moments in which the player gets out of the car.
Aside from the visuals, car lovers will be pleased to learn that automobile customization will be returning in this year's game, according to Grubb.

However, these are leaks for now, and it would be ideal to wait for the official confirmation from the developers to know more about Need For Speed 2022 game.
