Valorant 5.08 Patch - Agent and Map Updates

The Valorant 5.08 PBE patch notes indicated that the upcoming VALORANT patch will only provide minor Quality of Life adjustments to several agent skills, including those of Astra, Sova, Skye, and Sage.

The only other significant or meta-shifting addition in this patch is the new Controller agent from India named Harbor, who possesses water-based skills. The primary component of this Valorant PBE 5.08 patch is this new agent. VALORANT 5.08 PBE Patch Notes:

  • Fixed an issue where friendly versions of area-damage abilities could overwrite enemy versions of those abilities to deal less damage.
  • Fixed a bug where Viper’s Toxic Screen could have small gaps around the ground level in specific map locations.
  • PEARL: Fixed a sliver line of sight from A Main to A Link.

Valorant 5.08 Patch - System changes

  • In some cases, KAY/O’s Suppression Blade position indicator could appear twice on the minimap

Valorant Agent 21 - Harbor

The announcement was made on Valorant's official Twitter account showcasing the new agent and his name both in English and Hindi, confirming his origin.

  • Valorant Harbor Abilities

We are yet to get any official information on Agent 21 - Harbor's abilities, however, we can retrieve some of his abilities from the teaser that we have seen above. If you look closely at the laptop's image, you can see a wall of water, which provides us a hint that one of his skills will include building a wall out of water. Nobody knows for sure if it will be a solid wall like Sage or one like Viper, though.

After the small hints from the developers, leaks revealed the entire kit and the potential name of Valorant Agent 21.

While it's impossible to know for sure if this kit is correct, the leaked Varun Vatra Abilities are:

  • Harbor's Cove

EQUIP a sphere of shielding water. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to underhand throw. Upon impacting the ground, spawn a water shield that blocks bullets.

  • Harbor's High Tide

EQUIP a wall of water. FIRE to send the water forward along the ground. Hold Fire to guide the water in the direction of your crosshair, spawning a wall along the water’s path. Alt Fire to stop the water early. Players that hit are SLOWED.

  • Harbor's Cascade

EQUIP a wave of water. FIRE to send the wave rolling forward and through walls. RE-USE to stop the wave. Players hit are SLOWED.

  • Harbor's Reckoning

EQUIP the full power of your Artifact. FIRE to summon a geyser pool on the ground. Enemy players in the area are targeted by successive geyser strikes. Players caught within a strike are CONCUSSED.

Not only Valorant patch 5.08, but we also got info on the next Valorant PBE patches. It has been revealed that PBE invite frequency has changed. Instead of a singular invite wave going out to a small number of eligible players once every PBE patch, it will now be once every OTHER PBE patch.

This started with the 4.10 patch, but we are unsure of the date of the next invite wave/chance to join Valo Patch 5.09.

However, it was additionally mentioned that this PBE schedule is subject to change depending on what type of patch is going out and it is not completely set in stone.

The PBE is still going on. There have been no new changes to the Patch Notes 5.08 PBE as of yet. We'll update you as soon as we learn of any changes to the upcoming Patch Notes 5.08 PBE.

Obviously, these changes seem interesting, hence, those who are early waiting to see the Valorant agent abilities changes, bug fixes, and more should keep their eyes on the official announcement as Valorant patch 5.08 is set to release soon.
