Overwatch 2 Venture has been officially announced as OW2 Season 10 Hero. The devs have also shared a glimpse of their gameplay and weapon.

BlizzCon 2023 has been a goldmine of information for Overwatch 2 fans, revealing three new heroes. Alongside the brand new hero for OW2 Season 8: Samoan tank Mauga and the support hero named Space Ranger for Season 12, Season 10 will introduce a DPS hero named Venture.

Overwatch 2 Venture Gameplay and Abilities Revealed
This weekend, from March 28 to March 31, a limited-time trial will allow players to play Venture, the upcoming hero in Overwatch 2. All players will have free access to Venture, where they may get a sneak peek of their kit, which Blizzard also fully disclosed.

Passive: Explorer's Resolve

While players can test out Venture ahead of schedule over a trial weekend on March 28–31, the new Hero will formally debut in Overwatch 2 on April 16 with the release of Season 10.

Venture, the Season 10 Hero in Overwatch 2, hails from Canada. They are a non-binary archaeologist who wields a drill, not just as a tool, but also as a weapon, enabling them to dig underground and traverse the map.
This exciting announcement happened during a BlizzCon panel where the devs were sharing info about the future of Overwatch 2. In the initial concept art, we get a glimpse of the hero's perspective, complete with unique and interesting goggles and their trusty, notably large drill, nearly half the size of their body.
Additionally, they possess an ability allowing them to tunnel beneath the ground and emerge beneath enemies. While their ultimate ability remains a mystery, Venture's adventurous spirit as an archaeologist willing to unearth long-buried treasures adds an intriguing layer to their character. Notably, they represent Overwatch 2’s first non-binary character.

A sneak peek of OW2 Venture gameplay was recorded during a recent playtest, set in Nepal. The footage vividly displayed Venture's remarkable mobility.
One of their standout abilities permits Venture to burrow underground, rendering them temporarily invulnerable. They can then burst upwards, propelling themselves into the air while dealing damage. Another key ability of Venture allows them to dash forward, swiftly closing the distance to either engage directly in a fight or make a strategic exit. This can also be used along with their burrowing ability.
Venture boasts 200 health, with an additional 50HP shield gained when performing a right-click drill dash attack.
The gameplay footage, however, leaves us in suspense about Venture's ultimate ability, which is yet to be revealed.
OW2 Venture Weapon
At first look, Overwatch 2 Season 10's hero, Venture wields a drill that appears to launch explosives in a straight trajectory, bearing a resemblance to Sigma’s primary fire.
Venture's weapon releases eight projectiles before requiring a reload. Each shot travels a predetermined distance before bursting out.
Venture's abilities offer ample potential for dynamic and aggressive playstyles, promising players an engaging challenge.

Overwatch 2 Venture Release Date
As for Venture's release date in Overwatch 2, they're slated for Season 10, which is approximately two and a half Seasons away.
Given that Seasons typically span around 9 weeks, Venture is expected to make their debut sometime around March 2024. It's worth noting that Overwatch 2 has a history of introducing seasonal content after a season has commenced, so the exact release date of Venture might see some adjustments.
The DPS hero is still in the early stages, with their model lacking some finishing touches. Nevertheless, the disclosed information has generated considerable excitement among players looking forward to their release.
That sums up all that we know about OW2 Season 10 Hero, Venture. However, the announcement of Venture isn't the only thrilling news from Blizzcon about Overwatch 2. Blizzard is also gearing up for a comprehensive overhaul of the ranked system in Season 9 with the introduction of a new map, new game mode, and two new heroes in Season 8 and 12.
