MSI 2021 was held in Iceland and was a huge success, with Royal Never Give Up winning their second MSI championship. With this year's MSI round the corner, a new report reveals the location where the tournament will be held.


As per the new report coming from DotEsports, MSI 2022 is set to be held in South Korea. This will be the first MSI hosted by the country, as well as the first League of Legends international event in South Korea since 2018. There are currently no details on where the tournament will be hosted in South Korea.

The tournament will most likely take place at the end of April or the beginning of May, and it will feature 12 teams from across the world.



Riot was forced to cancel the MSI in 2020 due to the pandemic, opting instead for a limited "bubble system" in China for Worlds 2020. In 2021, Riot implemented the same system in Iceland for both the MSI and the Worlds

South Korea's hosting of the MSI also marks the organization's return to a major country following the disruptions caused by the pandemic in the previous two years.


Riot hasn't announced anything officially yet. But let's hope this report comes true, fans and players will be overjoyed to finally be in LoL Park for the event after such a long time.
