Mario Kart 8 was initially published on the Wii U in 2014, and it has subsequently been transferred to the Nintendo Switch with DLC as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Although the game came featuring add-on material from its Wii U version at launch, Nintendo just announced a Booster Course Pass that will add extra courses to the game.

The Booster Course Pass introduced 48 remastered tracks from previous installments of the series to the Switch game in six waves, with the final wave set to arrive by the end of 2023. This week, the first wave was given, along with a surprising improvement.

We don't know when the second wave will be released because it hasn't been revealed yet, but thanks to a recent datamining leak, we might well have an idea of the upcoming courses that it will bring, as a new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe leak may have disclosed several planned DLC tracks.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC tracks leak

Only one of six waves of DLC courses that is included in the Booster Course Pass was released today. The initial wave contains 8 tracks, however there are another 40 that Nintendo has yet to formally confirm.

Nevertheless, Twitter user Joshua Goldie discovered a huge variety of track names that have already been included to the in-game files, when searching through the files of the last update, possibly hinting at their individual remasters is in active development for future waves.

The update reportedly contains a file with a new banner for the Booster Course Pass, and gamers with a sharp eye may be able to see unreleased ones on this banner, which depicts figures racing on a strip of road made out of graphics from all of the DLC courses.

According to dataminer OatmealDome, the next tracks inside the game are listed in such a way, possibly to avoid datamining as the files are named like Csnw 01 and Csnw 02, indeed odd and indecipherable.

The leak has shown courses such as the Syndey Sprint, LA Laps, Koopa Cape, and more.

Goldie, who has been soliciting feedback from fans, believes that other tracks that could be featured on the banner include:

  • DK Summit - Wii
  • Koopa Cape - Wii
  • LA Laps - Tour
  • Maple Treeway - Wii
  • Mario Circuit - SNES
  • Merry Mountain - Tour
  • New York Minute - Tour
  • Rainbow Road - 3DS
  • Shy Guy Bazaar - 3DS
  • Sunset Wilds - GBA
  • Sydney Sprint - Tour
  • Vancouver Velocity - Tour
  • Vanilla Lake - SNES

Because this image was allegedly datamined and isn't actually viewable while playing the game, it's possible that it's an outdated placeholder file with inaccurate track graphics.

Furthermore, the presence of these courses in the files does not imply that they will be included in the final game as it is always possible that things may change during the final process.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, which costs $24.99 / £24.99, includes 48 DLC courses spread out across six waves, the first of which is available now. However, we will have to wait and see when the next waves of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released.
