The team-based action game Overwatch 2 is free to play and is set in the optimistic future. Each match is the ultimate 5v5 battlefield brawl.

While Overwatch 2 and the first game share many similarities, there are also some important additions and adjustments. The biggest change is the reduction of teams from six to five players, with only one tank spot allotted to each side.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 recently premiered on April 12th, bringing us a new hero named Lifeweaver, a new game mode, battle pass cosmetics, skins, and more.

And now it's time to look forward to Overwatch 2 Season 5. Blizzard is gearing up for the return of the Summer Games, focuses on a fresh event, and prepares to roll out a tonne of new content as Overwatch 2's Season 5 approaches.

The information we currently have regarding OW2 Season 5 is listed below.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 Release Date and Mythic Skin Announced

Adventurer Tracer, Overwatch 2 Season 5's Mythic Skin, was revealed along with the official OW2 Season 5 release date, which is Tuesday, June 13.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 Release Date

Even though the Overwatch 2 Season 5 release date hasn't been confirmed, we can assume it will occur on June 13, 2023.

Each season of Overwatch 2 will last around nine weeks, according to Blizzard. We predict that Season 5 will begin on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, since Season 4 debuted on April 12.

Blizzard's schedule calls for Season 5 to expire nine weeks later, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, if everything goes as planned. However, once more, Blizzard reserves the right to change their plans and postpone the release date.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 Content

An official Overwatch 2 roadmap has been revealed by Blizzard that outlines its plans for Seasons 5, 6, and 7, including when PvE content will be available and how those plans have altered.

The Overwatch 2 Season 5 roadmap is crammed with hints about what will happen in the following month and in three months. The one-time Questwatch event, a fresh cinematic, the return of the Summer Games event, and something called Mischief & Magic will all be included in Season 5.

OW2 Season 5 Summer Games Event

The Summer Games are back for OW2 Season 5, which is its first and main feature.

The developers have decided that it is time for Overwatch 2 Summer Games to return following its absence in 2022. It is one of the most well-liked events and the primary cause of this was the introduction of the Lucio Ball game mode during the initial Summer Games event.

It attained such a high level of acceptance that at one point Lucio Ball was even ranked. Additionally, during the Summer Games event, many skins with a summer theme normally become available.

Although information about the Summer Games of 2023 is currently lacking, it is safe to assume that the usual array of cosmetics will be there. The popular Lucioball game mode falls under the same category.

But every year, the developers like to throw in a surprise or two, like the Lucioball remix for 2020. So anticipate seeing something unexpected here once more.

The Overwatch Summer Games event would typically begin in the middle of July. So, we may anticipate that the OW2 Summer Games 2023 will start at roughly the same time.

OW2 Season 5 Questwatch Event

The development team introduced a brand-new event for Season 5 during the presentation of Overwatch 2's most recent roadmap, Questwatch. Blizzard hinted about "Questwatch" as the season's limited event in a new graphic.

The Questwatch event looks like a sharp departure from this season's Starwatch event. Players will probably be exposed to a more fantastical take on heroes rather than intergalactic sci-fi.

However, developers were quite coy about the specifics of what OW2 Questwatch will provide. From what we can infer, it appears to be a game mode or interaction with a future set of Mischief and Magic skins.

OW2 Season 5 Cinematic Reveal

Overwatch 2 Season 5 will also have a cinematic reveal, which is a consistently well-received release.

Since Overwatch 2's recent release, Kiriko's animated short has been the only new cinematic the community has seen in its entirety. The new Roadmap, however, appeared to have hinted at a brand-new cinematic for Sojourn and Murphy.

The OW2 season 5 teaser for the Cinematic does not feature any new heroes, but it does feature a tame dog inside what appears to be a standard suburban house.

We'll have to wait and see what the OW2 Season 5 Cinematic will feature, it would not be unexpected, though, if it teased elements of the future PvE modes in Season 6.

OW2 Season 5 QoL Updates

The "on fire" feature has been brought back, and a Creator workshop mode has also been added, among other quality-of-life improvements for OW2 Season 5.

The On Fire feature, which made it simple for players to tell who was popping off, was removed during the transfer from the old game to OW2. Now the On Fire system is finally returning in Season 5 after much teasing.

The Creator Workshop Mode was another component of Season 5 that was hinted at in the roadmap that Blizzard provided. However, it is still unclear whether this is an update to the current Workshop mode or a brand-new Workshop mode for the game.

Also, season five will also feature a five-vs-five mini-competitive season.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 Map

There will be a brand-new map added to the rotation in Overwatch 2 Season 5. Players are undoubtedly excited for a new map to fight over in both Quickplay and Competitive since the last new map for the game was Arctic Peninsula in Overwatch 2 Season 3.

In Overwatch 2 Season 5, there won't be a new hero as it was previously announced that future seasons will alternate between introducing a fresh hero and a fresh map. Overwatch 2 Season 4 included Lifeweaver, and Season 5 will include a new map.

The OW2 Season 5 map is currently unknown, but we'll update this article as soon as Blizzard provides more information about the intriguing new arena.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 Battle Pass

A fresh Battle Pass for Overwatch 2 is released to coincide with the beginning of each new season. At this time, it is unknown what the future theme of Overwatch 2 Season 5 Battle Pass will be.

Since Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 already included a cyberpunk aesthetic and a religious undertone, Overwatch 2 Season 5 may take any turn.

Whatever the case, the Overwatch 2 Season 5 battle pass will unquestionably get a revamp with new skins, emotes, and voice lines galore with the start of season 5.

We'll update this section as we discover more about what else will be in Overwatch 2 Season 5 as the launch date approaches.

This is all the information on Overwatch 2 Season 5 that has been released so far, including its release date, skins, maps, battle pass, events, and more.
