Currently, it seems like Sony has a lot in store for its users as it has been filing patents for its PlayStation 5 hardware and consoles to work on their technology and services.

A portion of the newly filed patents includes the faceplates of PS5 termed as "ornamental design for a cover for an electronic device", and a multi-GPU system for cloud gaming, focusing on improving the graphical capabilities of cloud games.

Now the most recent patent documented by Sony is additionally for the PlayStation console, spinning around the PlayStation mobile controller.

The PlayStation mobile controller patent was filed for the current week by SIE's Japanese division, which has a few images hinting towards a gadget that looks like PS4's DualShock 4 rather than PS5's DualSense, which is combined with two-controller grips.

As per a report by VGC, "the included drawings of the device omit a shaft portion that can be tilted by the user, and detect the tilting direction and tilting amount of the shaft portion."

Its patent image had a right-side grip portion and a left-side grip portion held by the user. So if is what is being speculated that it would be a new transformation in the PlayStation consoles, and Sony will add a brand new variety of PlayStation consoles that probably can be utilized to play PlayStation games through Remote Play or via the cloud.

It would be an exciting change as PlayStation controllers are already viable with cell phones via Bluetooth, so these new PlayStation mobile controllers can likewise be utilized as other third-party controllers that are used to play streamed Xbox games.

Moreover, in March 2022, during the business year ending, Jim Ryan also talked about bringing some of its "iconic IP" to mobile, stating "PlayStation has a huge catalogue of diverse first-party IP that can transition to smartphone gaming and complement our AAA games or live service games. We are exploring the mobile market with some wonderful PlayStation franchises so please stay tuned."

Supporting this statement, we have WipEout Rush, a classic PlayStation racing game that is making its return as another mobile game in mid-2022 on both iOS and Android gadgets.

In an IGN report, Rogue CEO Matt Casamassina said that "If I want that visceral, immersive, intense racing experience, I’ll find it waiting on PlayStation. But at the same time, we’re delighted that we could rethink wipEout for mobile with some fun new play mechanics and gorgeous visuals."

All these statements, actions, and the new patent are hinting at a new PlayStation mobile controller that will possibly be a  fresh push into mobile gaming. However, fans should wait for Sony to officially reveal this new controller themselves
