R6 Operation Deep Freeze Revealed

Ubisoft unveiled Rainbow Six Siege's Year 8 Season 4, titled 'Operation Deep Freeze,' featuring the new operator Tubarão and a map called 'Lair.' Tubarão, a Portuguese 2-speed, 2-health Defender, brings a gadget called the 'Zoto Canister,' a throwable device that supercools its radius, disabling attackers' gadgets and slowing them down. Tubarão's loadout includes MPX (SMG), AR-15.50 (Maverick's DMR), and P226 MK25 pistol, with secondary gadgets like Nitro Cell or Proximity Alarm.

The new map, 'Lair,' is a military base for the antagonist Deimos, built into a massive cavern with multiple entry points on each floor. It remains unbannable in Ranked throughout Y8S4. Moreover, two new game modes aim to help new players: 'Versus AI' lets players face AI defenders designed to play like humans, and 'Map Run' helps learn key room names and locations on various maps.

A significant change is the Frag Grenade adjustment, removing the cooking feature, which stirred controversy in the Siege community. This change aims to reduce the effectiveness of Frag Grenades and their impact on utility and player kills. Despite community concerns, it offers Defenders a chance to respond to incoming grenades.
