Adding to the excitement, HoYoverse has introduced two new 5-star characters set to feature in the Honkai Star Rail 2.3 banners. While specific information remains limited, early insights suggest the addition of three new characters: Firefly, Jade, and another 4-star character.

Honkai Star Rail 2.3 Banners Officially Revealed
HoYoverse has officially unveiled the drip marketing of two new 5-star characters, Firefly and Jade, confirming their presence in the HSR 2.3 banners.
HSR Firefly
Firefly was once a part of the well-liked Stellaron Hunter group in the game, which Ellio leads. Her genetic mutation that turned her into a weapon caused her to develop Entropy Loss Syndrome. This excruciating illness causes the physical body to irreversibly dissociate over time, eventually leading it to evaporate.

HSR Jade
Described as a cold and elegant usurer, Jade possesses a keen insight into human nature, leveraging her abilities for financial gain. Her goal is to wait patiently for valuable items before taking advantage of the poor to get money. As a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and member of the elite Ten Stonehearts, Jade commands respect and influence.
Furthermore, according to reports, Jade is a 5-star Quantum character coming in the 2.3 update, who takes the Erudition path. Voiced by Faye Mata in English and Kotono Mitsuishi in Japanese, she embodies sophistication and intellect.

The identities of the new characters are partially revealed by leaks, but there is still no information regarding the launching of a new 4-star character or the characters on Firefly and Jade's banner.

Honkai Star Rail Firefly
Leaked details suggest Firefly will assume the role of a 5-star Fire Destruction character, positioned as a DPS powerhouse within team compositions. She is one of the Stellaron Hunters and the one hiding underneath SAM's armor. She has Entropy Loss Syndrome, as we know from her conversation with the Trailblazer in Version 2.0.
HSR Firefly Abilities
Basic ATK
Deals Fire DMG to a single target.
Enhanced Basic ATK: Smoldering Wasteland
- Heals a percentage of own Max HP, and deals Fire DMG to a single target.
Skill
- Consumes a percentage of own Max HP, and deals Fire DMG to a single target. If HP is insufficient, will drain to 1 HP.+
- After the attack, if the target is Weakness Broken, regenerate some Energy.
Enhanced Skill: Devouring Conflagration
- Heals a percentage of own Max HP, and deals Fire DMG to a single target and adjacent targets.
- After the attack, if at least 1 attacked target is Weakness Broken, advances own action and deals extra Fire DMG to all attacked targets.
- All DMG dealt by this skill are considered as Ultimate DMG, instead of Skill DMG.
Ultimate: Burning Starlight
- Dispels all debuffs on self, and enters the Primary Combustion state, and advances own action by 100%.
- Summons a Cooldown Kernel on the action bar. When the Cooldown Kernel takes action, exits the Primary Combustion state.
Talent: Primary Combustion
- When under the Primary Combustion state, increases SPD by a fixed value, and increases DMG dealt by a percentage of (convertible) Break Effect.
- Also, Basic ATK and Skill will be switched to their Enhanced version
Talent: Scorched Barrier
- Reduces DMG taken by a percentage of lost HP. When under the Primary Combustion state, this DMG reduction is further increased by a fixed amount.
Talent: Luminous Fireflies
- When not under the Primary Combustion state, every time Current HP changes, will regenerate Energy based on the ratio of the HP change to Max HP.
Technique
- Immediately transforms into the Molten Knight, lasting for some time.
- When transformed, cannot be spotted by enemies and block all incoming attacks; move speed is greatly increased, and ignores all enemies while moving.
- When transformed, pressing the Normal ATK or Technique buttons will immediately attack all enemies in a large area. The AoE is the same as Kafka and Argenti.
Overworld Attack
- Melee attack with small range, similar to Sparkle's attack AoE.
Pictures
- Will be able to switch between 2 pictures in battle. She is currently the only character that can switch pictures.
Honkai Star Rail Firefly Traces
The following are HSR Firefly traces and their effects:
- Trace 2 - Increases resistance to Crowd Control debuffs.
- Trace 3 - When under the Primary Combustion state, gains Fire DMG Boost.
Honkai Star Rail Firefly Eidolons
- Eidolon 1 - When casting Enhanced Skill: Devouring Conflagration, before the DMG is dealt, inserts a Fire Weakness to the central single target, lasting for some turns. This effect ignores RES.
- Eidolon 2 - When receiving a buff, the duration of this buff is increased by 1 turn.
- Eidolon 3 - Yet to be revealed.
- Eidolon 4 - When under the Primary Combustion state, upon defeating an enemy, the action of Cooldown Kernel will be delayed. This effect can be triggered at most a certain number of times during each Primary Combustion.
- Eidolon 5 - Yet to be revealed.
- Eidolon 6 - When under the Primary Combustion state, when own turn ends, gains 1 stack of Heavenly Fire, increasing DMG dealt by Ultimates, max some stacks. When Primary Combustion ends, removes all stacks of Heavenly Fire.
Honkai Star Rail Jade
Following the Erudition Path and becoming a 5-star unit, Honkai Star Rail Jade will join the ranks of Quantum characters. It appears that she will take on the job of DPS, following in the footsteps of Aeon Nous-blessed beings that are renowned for their potent Area-of-Effect (AoE) attacks.
HSR Jade Abilities
Basic ATK
- Deals Quantum DMG to a single target and adjacent targets.
Skill
- Applies the Nephrite effect to a single ally. At the start of Jade's own turn, Nephrite's remaining duration decreases by 1. At most 1 ally can have the Nephrite effect.
- When the ally with Nephrite attacks an enemy, Jade deals Additional Quantum DMG to the attacked target(s).
- If the ally with Nephrite is not Jade, Nephrite will also increase this ally's SPD, and will consume a percentage of this ally's Max HP when Nephrite is applied, draining to 1 HP if HP is insufficient.
- In auto combat, this skill will prioritize Erudition path characters.
Ultimate:
- Deals Quantum DMG to all enemies and gains a certain number of Enhanced Follow-Up charges.
- When Jade performs a follow-up attack, if Jade has Enhanced Follow-Up charges, she will consume 1 charge to make this attack deal extra DMG.
Talent
- When allies with Nephrite attacks enemies, every enemy attacked will provide Jade with a certain number of Credits. When Jade uses Basic ATK or Ultimate, every enemy attacked will provide Jade with 1 Credit. These two effects can be triggered simultaneously, but every enemy can only trigger each of them once in every attack event.
- When Jade reaches a certain number of Credits, she will consume this number of Credits to unleash a follow-up attack, dealing Quantum DMG to all enemy targets.
- For every enemy that appears on field, Jade will gain 1 stack of Jadeite, increasing her ATK. This effect persists even after the enemy is defeated or leaves. When Jade performs a follow-up attack, she will gain a certain number of stacks of Jadeite. The number of Jadeite stacks has an upper limit.
Technique
- When Jade enters the overworld, will summon an following entity. This entity will inflict Blind to nearby enemies. Blinded enemies cannot detect your team.
- Upon using this technique, Jade will shoot a bullet at an enemy. If the bullet hit an enemy with Blind, will apply an effect to Jade and another effect to all enemies after entering battle.
Honkai Star Rail Jade Traces
- Trace 1 - When allies with Nephrite performs an attack, Jade will regenerate some Energy.
- Trace 2 - Upon entering battle, Jade's action is advanced by a certain amount.
- Trace 3 - Every stack of Jadeite will also increase Jade's Crit DMG. After any enemy is defeated by any entity, Jade's Crit DMG will be increased. This effect has an upper limit.
